Global marketing and communications consultancy Weber Shandwick Scotland has been announced as an official partner of TEDxGlasgow, a non-profit focused on sharing the best ideas and innovative perspectives from across Scotland.
Weber Shandwick Scotland will commit time and expertise to raise the profile of this year’s TEDxGlasgow event.
The 2015 conference, “Why Not Here?” will be held on Friday 12 June at the Tramway Theatre in Glasgow and will examine how Scots can inspire a new vision by challenging participants to reconsider their surroundings.
Moray Macdonald, Managing Director, Weber Shandwick Scotland said: “We are excited to be part of such a dynamic and important initiative. As businesses, we share many similar beliefs and, like TEDx and TED, we are also part of a global organisation which creates a lasting impact at a local level.
“This partnership is a great opportunity for us to demonstrate what we can achieve through collaboration.”
Now in its fourth year, TEDxGlasgow is an independently organised volunteer-run organisation, building on the TED culture of global innovation, creativity and collaboration.
Participants at the conference hear inspirational talks from Scotland’s leading thinkers, showcasing the very best, and most current, ideas generated in Scotland in the hopes of bringing about systematic change in local communities.
Gurjit Singh Lalli, TEDxGlasgow licence holder and founder, said: “We are pleased to welcome Weber Shandwick into this year’s team. TEDx brings together influential and action-oriented individuals who have the ability to bring about change in the diverse fields they work in and this is something Weber Shandwick already does.”
